After college, Emily's career took a turn when she worked in Corporate Wellness at D1 Sports Training, where she honed her skills in fitness and wellness. At the same time, she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, which sparked a deepened commitment to health and wellness. To further her knowledge and ability to help others, Emily became a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor, while also completing a Master’s in Exercise Science and Nutrition.
Before starting her family, Emily served as the Director of Campus Recreation at Lipscomb University, where she played a key role in shaping the university's fitness programs. Alongside her husband, she helped build and run the Lipscomb University Racquet Club, fostering a love for racquet sports in the community. After having children, Emily continued her passion for fitness by running boot camp-style classes for moms with strollers, women’s only fitness camps, and part-time PE teacher at Grace Christian Academy.
Today, Emily brings all of these experiences together in her work as the owner of Harris Life Training, where she combines her expertise in fitness and tennis to teach individuals of all ages and skill levels. She also serves as the head varsity tennis coach at Grace Christian Academy. Her holistic approach to health, fitness, and well-being makes her a sought-after coach and trainer in her community.
